Your journal entries, emotional scores, perspectives, and patterns are stored locally on your device in encrypted storage.
Everything you write syncs to our servers so your journal survives a lost phone or a reinstall. Entry text and perspectives are encrypted before they leave your device. We cannot read them.
When you save an entry, its text is sent to an AI model to write your perspective and score your signals. The AI provider does not store it and never trains on it.
Your contacts, photos, browsing history, or anything outside of VAELO. We don't run ads and we don't sell your data.
The technical detail, for those who want it: entries are encrypted on device with AES-256-GCM, and your encryption key is wrapped so it never exists in plaintext on our servers. A breach of our database would yield ciphertext.
No. VAELO reflects on what you write, and it never diagnoses or treats. When an entry shows signs of real crisis, it stops reflecting and points to real support, like the 988 lifeline in the US.
You. Entries are encrypted on your iPhone before they sync, and your key is never stored in plaintext on our servers. The one exception is the moment a perspective is written: your entry text is sent to the AI model once, and the provider does not store it or train on it.

Your journal data is deleted from our servers first, then from your device, then the account itself is removed. It is permanent and cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription, cancel it separately in your iPhone settings; deleting your account does not cancel Apple billing.
